THE weekday after a long weekend is always a conundrum. It's the first day back.. it's a short week, you don't wanna be there... you know the score. It was a nice weekend, albeit tiring (see last post), and then I was back to work.
Halfway through the day, the world got a little topsy turvy. We had a firing in the office; management escorted the party around the office to collect their stuff and maintenance came around with the new keycode for the outer doors. We were a little shell shocked, but not too surprised. This employee hadn't lasted long, and it was a relief to everyone.
And then, at twenty minutes to four (the time we go home), I got a phone call from the girl. "The car is on FIRE and there's smoke coming in from under the dash!!"
Holy geez.
Well, it was smoke, not full fledged fire, we determined when we got there, but B was sufficiently concerned to not want her to drive the car again until we can find out where the electrical short is. And that will involve buying the Chilton's, so it will be a couple of days. She's terribly traumatized by having to ride to school back and forth again with Mom and Dad. LOL
And B and I looked at each other last night and just had to laugh about it all. What a day...
